ICPhS is the world’s flagship phonetic sciences conference, held once
every four years. ICPhS 2027 will be held in Victoria, British
Columbia, under the general theme of Shifting Currents.
While we encourage contributions from across the spectrum of phonetic
sciences, we plan to spotlight (via plenary addresses) research
related to speech technology (with many companies located in the
Pacific Northwest), clinical phonetics, and community-engaged phonetic
documentation. Focusing on these themes, we will celebrate cultural
and linguistic diversity, including Indigenous and heritage languages
and multilingualism – the essential fabric of Canada.
Please check the website for further information and updates on
abstract submission, plenary speakers, and much more. Thank you, we
look forward to welcoming you in Victoria in August 2027!
