Subject: Participants Needed: Native English-speaking Learners of German for a L2 Study in Metaphor Acquisition
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Educational Linguistics program at the
University of New Mexico, researching adult second language
acquisition.
I encourage German professors to share this study information with
students.
I am seeking graduate and senior students in German language programs
to participate in a study in which we will learn and evaluate German
metaphors. Participants must have B2-C1 or C2 proficiency in German.
Participants will take on online survey in which they will read and
evaluate sentences and short paragraphs for metaphoric content. There
are 50 sentences and very short paragraphs, and participants will
receive $50. compensation.
The study can be taken on a computer, tablet, or phone, and the
German language sentences also have voice files that can be clicked
on, to listen to the paragraphs. Participants can also leave and
later return to the study, meaning that the study does not have to be
done at one sitting. Graduate students have completed the survey in
about 2 hours.
If you are interested in participating, contact me at sordfish at unm.edu
(note: sordfish is misspelled). The survey link is:

This study is an important part of a dissertation. This project is
approved through UNM IRB number 2506209291.
