Subject: Networking and Discussion Forum: ReproducibiliTea in the HumaniTeas
Would you like to network with other linguists and learn more about
Open Science, the reproducibility and replicability of published
results, good scientific practices, and how to improve the status quo
in academia? Then our event series "ReproducibiliTea in the
HumaniTeas" is the right place for you. Join the mailing list, drop
by, share your ideas, and become part of the community.
Each session begins with a 20-minute presentation or an activating
mini-workshop usually led by a linguist. This is followed by the
exchange and discussion part - over a cup of tea and cookies. For each
session, there is a recommended reading that serves as an introduction
to the topic. You can find the full schedule on our homepage
(https://ub.uni-koeln.de/en/courses-consultations/specials/reproducibilitea-in-the-humaniteas)
with topics this semester spanning the entire research cycle from
registered reports, achieving reproducibility (with sensitive data),
doing big team science, and open peer review, to sustainable research
and education for sustainable development.
We are kicking things off next Thursday 16 April 16-17:30 CEST with
linguist Anne Rosar from the University of Mannheim who will lead a
session on science communication for linguists.
Other linguist guest speakers this semester include Stefano Coretta
(University of Edinburgh), Jessica Hampton (University of Lancaster),
Sonja Eisenbeiß (Mercator Institute, University of Cologne), and Onur
Özsoy (CRC 1252, University of Cologne).
