We are pleased to invite proposals for a Special Issue of the CALICO
Journal (Volume 45), scheduled for publication in October 2028.
With this call, we seek one or more guest editors to lead an issue
centered on a timely and compelling topic that aligns with the
journal’s scope and advances the field of Computer-Assisted Language
Learning (CALL).
Proposal Guidelines:
If you are interested in serving as a guest editor, please include the
following in your proposal:
- Name(s) and Affiliation(s) of the proposed guest editor(s)
- Title and Focus of the Proposed Special Issue
- Brief Rationale (max. 500 words) including:
- Relevance of the topic
- Anticipated contribution to the field
- Short CV for each proposed guest editor, highlighting:
- Relevant experience with the topic
- Prior editorial work
- Draft Call for Papers for the proposed special issue
Proposed Production Timeline that meets the following deadlines:
October 1, 2027 - Full manuscripts due to guest editors
May 1, 2028 - All revisions completed
June 1, 2028 - Final editorial decisions to authors
August 1, 2028 - Penultimate version of full issue (incl. editorial
intro) submitted for copyediting
October 15, 2028 - Issue published
