Description:
The Department of Global Languages and Cultures in the College of Arts
& Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for two (2)
full-time academic professional track (non-tenure) positions in
Spanish language with a 9-month academic appointment beginning in fall
2026. Candidates will be considered for the position of lecturer or
senior lecturer depending on qualifications.
Candidates should demonstrate expertise in one or more of the
following areas:
 - Spanish for the Professions (e.g., Business, Medical, Legal)
 - Spanish for Heritage Speakers
 - Translation and Interpreting
The successful candidate will be expected to teach four (4) courses
per semester in Spanish language, primarily in the fields above, from
the beginning to the advanced level, and to contribute to program
building in Spanish language and to provide academic service, in a
manner consistent with their appointment, to the mission of the
department and university. Depending on program needs, there may also
be opportunities to develop and/or teach pertinent additional courses.
The Department of Global Languages and Cultures offers
degrees/programs in modern languages and Classics, and graduate
degrees in Hispanic Studies, in addition to offering undergraduate
minors in African Studies, Religious Studies, and Jewish Studies.

Qualifications:
For appointments at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, applicants must
have doctoral degree in Spanish or a closely related discipline, or a
master's level degree appropriate for the field in which the faculty
member will teach and significant teaching experience at the
college/school level in the field or in a related field, or have an
extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting.
 - Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of teaching Spanish at the
college level or in a related field to be considered for a Lecturer
appointment.
 - Candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of teaching Spanish at the
college level or in a related field  to be considered for a Senior
Lecturer appointment; candidates with 10 years or more preferred
