Subject: Integrating AI Support in English for Specific Purposes Classes
We are pleased to announce the upcoming online workshop on Integrating
AI support in ESP classes, organized as part of the Erasmus+ project
“Empowering Specialized Language Acquisition with Integrated AI”
(ELITE-AI). The project focuses on English for Specific Purposes
(ESP), addressing the language needs of learners in specialised
domains such as tourism, mobility, law, criminal justice, education,
social media marketing and sport, while strengthening digital
readiness and pedagogical innovation in higher education.
In line with these objectives, the workshop is designed for both
students and teachers, and aims to promote knowledge exchange,
critical reflection and collaborative exploration of innovative
approaches to foreign language (FL) and ESP instruction supported by
Artificial Intelligence (AI). Participants will engage with experts
from multiple European institutions and examine emerging AI-driven
practices in teaching, learning and assessment.
More specifically, the ELITE-AI project addresses the lack of a shared
methodological framework for the ethical and effective integration of
AI in foreign language teaching, particularly in ESP. It aims to
develop a research-informed approach that supports educators in
integrating AI tools into teaching, learning, and assessment, while
ensuring alignment with ethical standards and learner-centred
practices.
The workshop will take place online on May 7, 2025, 18.00-20.30
EET/17:00-19:30 CET.
