The Institute of Foreign Languages and International Tourism of the
Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education
"Pyatigorsk State University" invites researchers, university
lecturers, teachers of foreign languages, postgraduate students,
master's students, and young scholars to submit original research
articles for publication in the 2026 issue of the scientific journal
Language and Culture in the Era of Scientific Knowledge and
Professional Education Integration.
The journal welcomes theoretically grounded and empirically based
studies in linguistics, linguodidactics, intercultural communication,
professional education, digital learning environments, and related
areas of the humanities. The issue is intended to bring together
current research on language, culture, communication, and education in
the context of the integration of scientific knowledge and the
professionalization of education.
The publication aims to present research experience in various
branches of linguistics, including semantics, syntax, pragmatics,
discourse studies, cognitive linguistics, corpus linguistics,
psycholinguistics, and linguodidactics; to address current issues of
pedagogical linguistics and cross-cultural communication; and to
discuss the preservation and revitalization of minority languages and
cultures in the rapidly changing contemporary world.
Journal Scope and Thematic Areas:
1. Current linguistic research from the perspective of intercultural
and interpersonal communication:
- challenges of interpersonal and cross-cultural interaction in the
context of contemporary social change;
- discourse studies as a branch of communicative linguistics;
- pragmalinguistic studies of text and various types of discourse.
2. Key aspects of language and culture functioning in the context of
linguistic multipolarity:
- issues of preservation and revitalization of minority languages and
cultures;
- language as a means of expressing ethnicity, cultural identity, and
social belonging;
- linguistic perspectives on migration processes and social tensions.
3. Pedagogical design of the digital learning environment:
- teaching humanities in the context of digitalization and
professionalization of education: didactic, technological,
psychological, and ethical aspects;
- modern methods and technological innovations in teaching foreign
languages in digital learning environments;
- intuitive interfaces and adaptive design in digital education;
- effective interaction between teachers and students in distance and
blended learning: accessibility, collaboration, motivation, and
academic integrity;
- assessment of the quality of professional and foreign language
education on digital learning platforms.
4. Challenges and innovations in professional and inclusive foreign
language education:
- linguocentric and anthropocentric paradigms in professional
training;
- foreign language teaching as a means of professional communication
across cultures;
- innovative and practice-oriented research in higher education;
- problems and prospects of creating inclusive learning environments
for students with disabilities.
5. Integrative and multi-paradigm character of modern linguistic
research:
- structural and semantic properties of lexical innovations and
lexicon items in languages for specific purposes;
- cognitive perspectives in the study of language units of different
levels;
- corpus and computer technologies in the study of linguistic
phenomena;
- speech and thought activity as a subject of psycholinguistic
research.
6. Intercultural communication in professional tourism activities:
- linguistic education as a factor in the development of incoming
tourism;
- intercultural communication in the training of tourism and
hospitality specialists;
- social partnership projects through immersion in the cultural and
historical environments of the world's peoples.
Publication Information:
Manuscripts may be submitted in Russian or English. All submissions
must be original, carefully proofread, and prepared in accordance with
the article submission guidelines provided in Appendix 2.
All articles undergo editorial screening, peer review by members of
the journal editorial board, and originality checks using the
Antiplagiat system. The minimum originality requirement is 75%.
Articles with a lower originality rate, insufficient scholarly
quality, or non-compliance with the journal scope and formatting
requirements may be returned for revision or rejected.

Appendix 2
Article Submission Guidelines
(for the scientific journal)
1. Each article must be carefully proofread by the author and must not
contain spelling or punctuation errors, repetitions, or redundant
blocks of information. The author is responsible for the content of
the article and for ensuring that the manuscript does not contain
extremist or terrorist materials, obscene language, or legally
restricted references.
2. All articles must be formatted uniformly and must include metadata
in Russian and English. Metadata in Russian should include: UDC
number; author's initials and surname(s); full official name of the
institution; author's e-mail address; SPIN code / eLibrary author ID,
if applicable; article title; abstract of 250-350 characters excluding
spaces; and up to five keywords or keyword phrases. Metadata in
English should be presented in the same order.
3. The article should include the main text and a numbered reference
list. The heading Bibliography should be centered, bold, and
italicized. References should be arranged alphabetically:
Russian-language sources first, followed by foreign-language sources.
Electronic resources are included in the general list.
4. References must be formatted according to GOST R 7.0.5-2008
Bibliographic reference. General requirements and rules. Page numbers
are required for articles in journals or collected volumes. The author
is responsible for the accuracy of all bibliographic data, citations,
and references.
5. Initials must not be separated from surnames onto different lines.
Use a non-breaking space where necessary. Initials and surnames should
be written separately: M.V. Lomonosov in the article; Petrov S.N. in
the reference list.
6. In-text citations should be placed in square brackets, for example:
[Chernigovskaya, 2021, p. 218].
7. References to social networks should not be included in the
reference list; the name or URL may be provided in parentheses in the
text. When mentioning organisations or platforms for which special
legal marking is required under Russian legislation, the author must
provide the required note.
8. Use correct dash and hyphen rules: dashes without spaces between
numbers and years; dashes with spaces between words; hyphens only for
compound words. Do not use double or triple spaces.
9. All tables must be numbered and titled; each table must be referred
to in the text. Tables, charts, and figures should be black-and-white;
shading is allowed.
10. Text editor: Microsoft Word. File format: *.doc or *.docx.
11. Page setup: A4, portrait orientation, margins 2 cm on all sides.
Paragraph indent: 1.25 cm. Do not create indents with spaces.
12. Font: Times New Roman, 14 pt; line spacing: 1.5. Italics or bold
may be used for emphasis. Text color: black.
13. Article length: 6-8 pages.
14. Formula editor: Microsoft Office / MathType.
15. All submissions undergo peer review and originality checks. The
minimum originality requirement is 75%. Articles below this threshold
must be revised or withdrawn. AI-generated text is not permitted.
