Call for Papers:
We invite all students of linguistics and related disciplines to
participate in the 80th StuTS in Cologne! StuTS stands for
Studentische Tagung Sprachwissenschaft, Student Conference on
Linguistics (https://fs-lup.uni-koeln.de/en/stuts-80). The conference
takes place once per semester and is organized independently by
students. We will be hosting this semester's 80th StuTS during the
2026–27 winter semester (18–22 November) at the University of Cologne.
All participants are warmly invited to present their work at StuTS:
You can present term papers, bachelor’s or master’s theses, as well as
other projects you’re currently working on. Everything is welcome –
whether you’re attending StuTS for the first time or are already a
regular. We also encourage you to present collaborative projects
together with your colleagues.
Presentations should draw from the broad field of linguistics. This
means, for example, that contributions from the field of translation
studies are also welcome. You can present your work either as a poster
or give a talk. It’s also possible to offer workshops where you can
share your
knowledge – for example, about a language or a tool/program – with
your fellow students.
- Posters: exhibition and presentation in a combined poster session
- Talks: 30 minutes (20-minute presentation + 10-minute discussion)
- Workshops: 60 minutes
The title of the talk/workshop/poster and an abstract (in English or
German) of no more than 300 words should be submitted via the ‘frab’
platform (https://talks.stuts.de/en/stuts80/cfp). Upon submitting,
please also specify both the language of the presentation and a
suitable linguistic subfield (psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics,
syntax etc.). You are also welcome to present in other languages than
German and English and/or in a multilingual format. In that case,
please submit your abstract for the program (under “Description”) in
your presentation language in addition to the German or English
version.
Don’t forget to register for the conference (preferably until
September 1):
https://survey.uni-koeln.de/index.php/864916/lang=en&move=changelang.
Then, create your own profile on ‘frab’ and enter your availability
there.
