Subject: The Metaphor Society: An Interdisciplinary Community for Metaphor, Mind and Meaning


The Metaphor Society is an interdisciplinary community exploring how
metaphor and symbolic thought shape human experience across language,
psychology, embodied cognition, therapy, culture and related
scholarship.
The Society offers live online talks and discussions, a growing
presentation archive, articles and explorations, and opportunities for
exchange among researchers, practitioners and others interested in
metaphor, mind and meaning. Topics include conceptual and embodied
metaphor, the relationship between language and experience, symbolism,
dreams, narrative, culture and the ways figurative structures organize
thought.
