>From 18 to 20 November 2026, the second Biennial of Czech Linguistics
will take place at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno.
The aim of the Biennial is to cover Czech linguistics in its full
methodological and thematic breadth. We welcome contributions and
participants from all linguistic disciplines and philologies,
representing a wide range of theoretical and methodological
approaches. The conference is structured around thematic workshops and
will also include a general poster session and a popularisation
programme.

Preliminary Submission Call Information:
The Organising Team and the organisers of thematic workshops invite
the Czech and foreign linguistic community to submit contributions to
the Biennial of Czech Linguistics 2026.
The CfP for BCL2026 will open on March 2 and close on April 30.
Contributors have the opportunity to submit their contribution to: 1.
a specific thematic workshop; 2. the general poster session, which is
thematically open; 3. the student poster session, which is connected
to the Best Student Poster Award and is also thematically open.
All abstracts will undergo a double-blind review process conducted via
the OpenReview platform. Final decisions regarding acceptance are made
by the Organising Team in cooperation with the organisers of the
respective workshops.

We are delighted to announce that the following speakers have accepted
an invitation to deliver a keynote lecture at BCL 2026:

- Kateřina Chládková (Charles University, Czech Academy of Sciences)
- Stefan-Michael Newerkla (University of Vienna)
Best Student Poster Award:
The Organising Team of the Biennial of Czech Linguistics 2026 invites
submissions for the Best Student Poster Award.
The Award will be granted in two categories: 1. PhD students; 2.
Non-PhD students (BA and MA students). Authors must indicate their
category when submitting their abstract.
Eligibility Criteria:
Only authors who have not been awarded a PhD degree before the
abstract submission deadline are eligible. The student author must be
the sole author of the poster or the first (main) author in the case
of co-authored work. The deadline for submitting abstracts, formal
requirements, and method of registration are identical to the rules
for regular contributions to the Biennial of Czech Linguistics 2026.
