This post offers an emerging expert in the use of digital methods in
humanities or social sciences to shape an ambitious, fast-growing
centre in Digital Humanities in Asia.
Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU
Singapore) is ranked among the world’s top universities. Agile, bold

and human creativity to tackle the toughest challenges in our society.
NTU Singapore’s College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences
(CoHASS) brings together researchers and practitioners in fields from
design and communication to philosophy and economics, to create new
knowledge about the relationship between society, culture, nature, and
technology in Asia and beyond. CoHASS aims to be Asia’s leading centre
for innovative, interdisciplinary Humanities, Arts and Social Science
practice and research.
As part of this mission, CoHASS is launching the Asian Centre of
Digital Cultures, alongside a new Masters programme in Digital
Humanities, and seeks new faculty colleagues with a strong record of
high-quality research in related fields.
The successful candidate will have experience in one or more of the
following areas: artificial intelligence, large language models, data
and text analytics, data visualization, and network analysis. They are
expected to apply these areas to address contemporary issues in
culture and society. We prefer (but do not require) the candidate to
have a focus on Asia. They will have a doctorate in an appropriate
field.
Candidates will be attached to the Asian Centre of Digital Cultures,
and one of CoHASS’s four schools, according to their specific research
focus. They will teach on the Digital Humanities MA programme, and
potential undergraduate courses as well.
Emoluments:
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and
experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit
package.
