Description:
The College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a three-year,
full-time, 9-month non-tenure track position at the rank of Visiting
Assistant Professor to begin as early as Fall 2026. The successful
candidate will oversee the Teacher Certification Program in Spanish
and will teach four courses per semester, including Hispanic
Linguistics, Grammar, Phonetics and Phonology, Methods in Foreign
Language Instruction, Spanish for Heritage Speakers, etc., as well as
lower-level Spanish courses. Candidates must hold a PhD in
Hispanic/Spanish Linguistics by the time of appointment. The candidate
will be expected to be a quality teacher, mentor, and collegial
citizen of the academy, to be demonstrated through a variety of
student learning outcomes, and to serve on local and professional
committees. Pending satisfactory performance, the appointment is
renewable for up to three years.
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a vibrant, Hispanic and

Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Hispanic/Spanish Linguistics. Advanced ABD will be
considered; Degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to candidates with suitable teaching
experience in Hispanic Linguistics, or Methods in Foreign Language
Instruction, or general Spanish courses and a strong commitment to
undergraduate Liberal Arts education.
- Particularly welcome would be a strong interest in Spanish in the
United States within a Hispanic/Spanish Linguistics context, and its
implications for areas such as heritage learner education, language
variation, language contact within a nation or across borders, and
related areas.
