The Spanish Society for Medieval English Language and Literature
(SELIM) and the Local Organising Committee invite members of the
Society and all scholars interested in the field to participate in the
36th International Conference of SELIM (SELIM 36), to be hosted by the
University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in Toledo, from 23rd to 25th
September 2026.
The organisers welcome papers dealing with any aspect of medieval
English language and literature. As in previous SELIM conferences, we
especially encourage the submission of papers that offer new readings
or perspectives on Old and Middle English texts, as well as innovative
methodological approaches and analytical frameworks.
Thematic Panels:
The conference will be organised into four thematic panels:

Submission Guidelines:
Scholars interested in offering 20-minute presentations (followed by a
10-minute discussion) are invited to submit a 300-word abstract
(excluding references) in electronic format (using the provided MS
Word template) to the relevant panel coordinator by 30 March 2026,
with a cc copy to the organising comittee (congreso.selim36 at uclm.es).
Acceptance of proposals will be confirmed by 20 April 2026.
References should comply with the APA 7th edition guidelines.
