Subject: Theoretical Linguistics and Discourse Analysis (Collaboration)
I am a PhD student in linguistics at the Universitat Politècnica de
València, where my doctoral research is focused on discourse analysis,
with a particular emphasis on the automation of discourse analysis.
Within my PhD, I am especially interested in discourse-oriented
approaches to language and related theoretical frameworks.
At the same time, I have a strong and long-standing interest in
theoretical and structural linguistics, especially in questions
related to linguistic universals and the study of language as a formal
system. This interest goes back to my undergraduate studies, where I
was first introduced to generative linguistics (e.g. Chomsky), and I
have continued to explore these topics alongside my doctoral work.
More recently, this theoretical interest has also led me to explore
questions related to xenolinguistics, particularly work on the
identification of universal properties of language and the analysis of
unknown or non-human communication systems (e.g. research by Douglas
Vakoch). I see this as a natural extension of broader questions about
linguistic universals and language as a system.
I am interested in getting in touch with researchers who work on or
are interested in theoretical linguistics, with the aim of exchanging
ideas and exploring possible lines of collaboration. The initial goal
would be discussion and joint thinking, with the possibility—if things
develop naturally—of working towards a paper in the future. I would
also be open to collaboration on discourse analysis–related work and
papers, in line with my doctoral research.
If this aligns with your interests, I would be glad to hear from you.
