Last Call for International Symposium on Bilingualism (ISB 16)
symposia presentations: deadline is June 30th 2026.
International Symposium on Bilingualism (ISB 16), to be held on June
14-18, 2027 in Saskatoon, Canada is issuing the last call for
Symposia. Our theme for ISB 16 is “Languages in Academia and in
Communities”. ISB is the most significant conference in the field of
bi/multilingualism. Its formats include oral presentations, posters
and symposia. Only the call for symposia is now open. Symposia are
120-minute blocks that allow for extended, interactive discussion on a
specific topic, focusing on a cluster of independent yet related
papers. Each symposium consists of four slots, and should consist
either of four presentations, or of three presentations and a
discussion.
Proposals must include a general abstract describing the symposium as
a whole (max 350 words), as well as abstracts for all individual
presentations (each no longer than 350 words). The total length of one
whole proposal (proposal overview plus 3-4 abstracts of presentations)
should be no more than 1600 words with references. Sufficient detail
on methods and results should be provided to allow peer reviewers to
judge the merit of the proposal. Please see more detail on the
websites provided. Proposals should be uploaded to the ISB 16 symposia
submission portal by 30 June 2026.
