The SLI 2026 Congress explores the role, nature, and evolution of
linguistic data in its various forms and manifestations across the
full spectrum of contemporary linguistic research. The conference
addresses methodological, theoretical, and epistemological questions
concerning the collection, analysis, interpretation, and management of
linguistic data. The programme is organized around three main themes:
the different types of linguistic data and their implications for the
study of language; the relationship between data and linguistic
theories; and methodological reflections on data science in
linguistics, covering the entire data lifecycle, from data collection
and structuring to preservation and sharing.
