Call for Papers:
The Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting of
the Ionian University invites submissions for TIERA 2026: Translating
and Interpreting in the Era of Algorithms, an international conference
dedicated to exploring the impact of artificial intelligence, large
language models, machine translation, and emerging technologies on
translation and interpreting research, practice, and education.
The conference aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue among
scholars and practitioners working in Translation and Interpreting
Studies, Applied Linguistics, Language Technologies, Digital
Humanities, Communication Studies, and related fields.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
 - Artificial intelligence and translation/interpreting
 - Large language models and language mediation
 - Human–machine collaboration
 - Machine translation and post-editing
 - Ethics, bias, and accountability in AI-mediated communication
 - Translation and interpreting pedagogy in the age of AI
 - Corpus-based and data-driven approaches
 - Professional practice and technological innovation
