Call for Papers:
The International Linguistic Society is delighted to invite you to
participate in the International Conference of Linguistic Research and
Applications, Linguistics 2026 Athens, to be held from 23rd to 25th
April 2026 in Athens, Greece. The primary aim of the conference is to
advance key areas of contemporary linguistics, welcoming innovative
approaches to linguistic research and applications.
The Linguistics 2026 Athens conference envisions a vibrant platform
for collaboration and dialogue among established researchers, research
groups, and emerging scholars within an integrated context. This
unique gathering aims to foster an enriching environment of knowledge
exchange, collaboration, and inspiration.
We are pleased to confirm the following keynote speakers:
Vaclav Brezina – Lancaster University
Ingo Plag – Heinrich-Heine-Universität
Nikos Sifakis – University of Athens
Pronunciation 2026 Online will take place as a dedicated Special
Session within the conference, featuring a keynote by Jette Hansen
Edwards (The Chinese University of Hong Kong).
Conference Themes and Scope:
Linguistics 2026 Athens will feature diverse and pioneering work in
linguistics, including, but not limited to:
 - Core Linguistics: Phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax,
semantics, pragmatics, text analysis
 - Interdisciplinary Linguistics: Psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics,
sociolinguistics, computational linguistics
 - Applied Linguistics: Language education, language pathology,
language technology
 - AI in Linguistics: This year’s conference will also highlight
emerging AI applications that advance linguistic knowledge and
applications
 - A special session on Greek Linguistics: Providing a platform for
Greek and international linguists to connect
Hybrid Participation Options:
Linguistics 2026 Athens will be a hybrid conference, offering both
in-person and virtual presentation and attendance options. In addition
to keynote lectures, the programme will include a limited number of
oral presentations and a variety of poster presentations. Virtual
participants will have remote access to keynote lectures, oral
presentations, and select online sessions.
Accepted abstracts will be published as expanded 4-page conference
papers in the Linguistic Proceedings Series.
We warmly invite researchers and research groups engaged in any area
of linguistics and related applications to submit one-page abstracts
for consideration at the Linguistics 2026 Athens conference.
Submission Deadline: 15th March 2026
