Date: 28-Oct-2026 - 30-Oct-2026
Location: Nijmegen (and online), Netherlands

Linguistic Field(s): Language Acquisition
Submission Deadline: 15-May-2026
The 4th edition of the Many Paths to Language conference focuses on
meaningful differences in the way children acquire language. It will
explore multiple sources of variation in early language development,
including: children’s linguistic and cultural environments, their
cognitive maturation, and the structural properties of the languages
they are acquiring, alongside the implications of this variation for
the mechanisms that drive and support native language acquisition,
given the overall robustness of learning in the face of this
variability.
The conference will take place at the Max Planck Institute for
Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen and online from 28th to 30th October,
2026. This will be a hybrid event, so presenters and audience can
attend in person or online. The deadline for abstract submission is
Friday May 15th at midnight (anywhere in the world).
