Call for Papers:
Almost 30 years later, the International Congress of the International
Society for Applied Psycholinguistics (ISAPL) returns to the Faculty
of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto in Porto, Portugal,
continuing the exceptional and visionary work of the founders of this
international scholarly association.
The 13th International Congress of the International Society for
Applied Psycholinguistics (ISAPL 2026) will take place from 11 to 13
June 2026, bringing together researchers, faculty members, and
students from around the world to discuss recent developments in the
field of Applied Psycholinguistics and related areas. The congress
will be held in person at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the
University of Porto and will feature keynote lectures by invited
speakers as well as presentations selected from submitted
contributions.
The scientific programme is organized around Thematic Symposia,
addressing key issues in Applied Psycholinguistics and reflecting the
diversity of theoretical, methodological, and interdisciplinary
approaches that currently characterize the field. The symposia
selected by the Scientific Committee are now open for Abstract
Submission, and researchers are invited to submit contributions that
engage directly with the themes proposed within each symposium.
Submissions should present recent research and clearly articulate the
theoretical framework, research questions, methodology (when
applicable), and main findings or expected contributions. We
particularly welcome work that promotes dialogue between theoretical
and applied perspectives, including experimental research at the
interface between linguistic theory and applied psycholinguistics.
The submission portal is open. Abstracts may be written in English or
Portuguese and must be submitted in anonymized PDF format. Each
submission should include one A4 page of main text, with the option to
add one additional page for supplementary materials such as examples,
figures, or references.
Important Dates:
- Submission of individual symposium presentations: March 10, 2026
- Notification of accepted symposium presentations: March 25, 2026
- Submission of posters: March 25, 2026
- Notification of accepted posters: April 5, 2026
Fees (Early Bird):
ISAPL Membership (Annual Fee) + ISAPL 2026 Conference Registration:
- Faculty and Researchers: €90
- Students: €40
- Non-Presenting Participants: €10
We look forward to welcoming the international research community to
the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto in
Portugal for three days of academic discussion, research exchange, and
new perspectives on language and its applications.
