Building on the success of the first edition, we are pleased to
announce the call for papers for the 2nd International Conference on
Language Research (CIIL2026).
As an in-person scientific event, CIIL26 will be held in the city of
Vigo. In addition to invited plenary lectures, its programme will
include communications (20-minute presentations) and poster
exhibitions.
Conference Topics:
Proposals that fit the research lines of the Lingua Institute,
organiser of CIIL26 (internal linguistics and linguistic variation;
society, ideology and language policy; languages, cognition and
education; translation and interpreting; language and literature;
language and accessibility; digital humanities) and/or the following
specific thematic areas of the event will be considered:
 - AI as a challenge for research in philology, linguistics,
translation and interpreting.
 - Accessibility as a citizen’s right.
 - Plain language in administrative and legal contexts.
 - Research opportunities in the digital humanities.
 - Sign languages and their contributions to linguistic research.
 - Reflections on critical editions of texts.
 - Queer studies in translation and linguistics.
 - Language contact and sociolinguistics.
 - Indigenous languages and linguistic diversity.
 - Applied linguistics (computational, forensic, clinical).
 - Translation studies and new research approaches.
 - Management of university research centres in languages, literature
and translation.
 - Management of university scientific journals in languages,
literature and translation.
Abstracts:
Abstract and poster proposals, written in any language, should be no
longer than 300 words. They should be submitted using this form:

Abstracts must include the following information:
 - title of the paper or poster
 - name(s) of the author(s) and academic affiliation
 - email address
 - 300-word abstract must explicitly indicate the following:
introduction to the topic, research questions/theoretical
reflections/objectives, theoretical framework, research methodology,
main results and conclusions. A very limited number of essential
bibliographical references may also be included.
The deadline for submitting abstracts, articles, and posters is 15
June 2026.
The Lingua Institute will publish a selection of the lectures, papers
and posters.
