Short Title: LLcD 2026

Date: 14-Dec-2026 - 16-Dec-2026
Location: Aix-en-Provence, France
Meeting URL: https://llcd2026.sciencesconf.org/

Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics

Submission Deadline: 17-May-2026

The 3rd edition of the conference `Languages and Language at the
Crossroads of Disciplines (LLcD)' will take place at Aix-Marseille
University from 14 to 16 December 2026
(https://llcd2026.sciencesconf.org/). The conference is organized
within the CNRS Thematic Network `Language and Languages at the
Crossroads of Disciplines', which aims to create a research network in
France and internationally that will promote new collaborations and
mutual enrichment between different subfields of linguistics,
different theoretical frameworks, and researchers working on different
languages and/or different modalities, while also reinforcing
interdisciplinarity.
The 2026 LLcD conference will include a plenary session, thematic
workshops, poster sessions, and a roundtable discussion on the theme
"Linguistics and Language AI: Foundations and Reciprocal Challenges".
Keynote Speakers:
Harald Baayen – University of Tübingen
Mark Dingemanse – Radboud Universiteit
Alice Turk – The University of Edinburgh
We invite abstracts for papers in all subfields of linguistics,
covering a wide range of languages and adopting different approaches
(descriptive, theoretical, empirical, interdisciplinary, etc.), with
the aim of fostering diversity across disciplines and methodologies.
The languages of the conference are French and English.
Papers may be submitted either to one of the workshops or to the
general session no later than 17 May 2026, via EasyChair. Submissions
must be fully anonymized and should not contain any information that
could identify the author(s) (name, affiliation, address, or
bibliographical references). Abstracts should not exceed 500 words
(including examples, excluding references) and are expected to clearly
present the research questions, the approach adopted, the methodology,
the data, and the results. Abstracts may be written in either English
or French and should follow the template provided on the conference
website:
English template:
https://llcd2026.sciencesconf.org/data/Abstract_Template_EN_LLcD2026.docx
French template:
https://llcd2026.sciencesconf.org/data/Resume_Template_FR_LLcD2026.docx
Each submission will undergo triple blind review. Abstracts submitted
to the general session will be reviewed by three members of the
scientific committee. Abstracts submitted to a workshop will be
reviewed by two members of the scientific committee and one member of
the corresponding workshop's organizing team.
