Description:
We are delighted to announce that the next DGfS Summer School 2026
will be taking place at Bielefeld University 10th-21st August, 2026.
The summer school is directed at early career researchers (advanced MA
students, doctoral researchers & postdocs). We are offering 32 1-week
courses on a variety of topics in Syntax/Morphology,
Semantics/Pragmatics, Linguistic Creativity and Foundational courses.
Participants can attend up to 4 courses a week, with maximally 8
courses in two weeks. Each course will run from Monday to Friday for
1.5 hours per day in 4 parallel sessions.
Everyone who is participating is welcome to present their research as
a poster presentation in one of our two poster sessions taking place
on Thursday, Aug 13th in the first week and on Monday, Aug 17th in the
second week. Please send a 500 word abstract with title and authors to
lincc-summer2026 at uni-bielefeld.de. There are plenty of spaces
available, however, if demand exceeds space limitations, we distribute
slots on a first-come, first-served basis.
We are offering a diverse and creative social programme on the
evenings but also on the weekend between the two course weeks. These
include a welcome reception, games and sports, a movie night, a
pubquiz, crafting or walks to a local Biergarten but also hikes in the
Teutoburg Forest, walks through the city, visiting museums, the
Sparrenburg Castle and the zoo close to the university. Please note
that most of the social programme is not covered by the registration
fee and needs to be paid separately. Some of the activities are for
free.
The detailed programme is available on our website
