Call for Papers:
The conference serves as a platform for educators from around the
world to share their experiences in teaching foreign languages to both
young and adult learners across a variety of settings. This year’s
online event focuses on inclusive practices that empower diverse
learners and support equitable access to language education.
Participants will gain practical strategies, discover innovative
tools, and connect with a global community committed to creating
welcoming learner-centered classrooms.
The conference programme includes plenary sessions, section meetings,
and workshops, and we invite contributions from the following fields:
- Developing learners’ L2 speaking skills
- Developing learners’ L2 reading skills
- Developing learners’ L2 listening skills
- Developing learners’ L2 writing skills
- Interculturality and multilingualism in L2 classroom
- AI assistance in language teaching
- Learners’ autonomy in language learning
- Assessment in foreign language teaching
- Teaching foreign languages to learners with special educational
needs
- Fostering learners’ well-being in a L2 classroom
Conference Keynote Speakers:
- Elaine Boyd, PhD, has worked in the field of English language
assessment, teacher training and materials design. She has been
responsible for designing international and local tests, including
developing quality processes and delivering training in assessment
literacy. Elaine's experience has been gained with leading
international testing organisations and publishers. She is an
Associate Tutor on the M.A. (TESOL & Applied Linguistics) programmes
at the Institute of Education, University College London. Elaine's
recent areas of research interest have included formative assessment
and feedback, corpus studies in spoken language, and cultural
literacy.
vNeus Figueras, PhD, has been involved in a number of international
research and development projects related to assessment at different
education levels and has given courses and presented in universities
in Spain, in various European countries, in Asia and in the USA. She
has also carried out consultancy work in assessment and in curriculum
design. She has collaborated regularly with the Council of Europe in
the uses and the dissemination of the CEFR in language testing and
assessment and is one of the authors of the Manual for Relating
examinations to the CEFR (Council of Europe, 2009). She is a founding
member of EALTA (European Association for Language Testing and
Assessment).
- Duncan Foord, MEd in TESOL, is the Director of OxfordTEFL,
Barcelona. He has 30 years experience in language teaching, teacher
training and school leadership and management. He is the author of
“From English Teacher to Learner Coach” (with Dan Barber, The Round
2014) The Developing Teacher (Delta Publishing, 2009) and The Language
Teachers Survival Handbook with Lindsay Clandfield (Its Magazines,
2008). He is lead trainer on the OxfordTEFL Leadership in ELT course.
He is a regular presenter at conferences on a range of areas, in
particular teacher development and leadership and management in ELT.
- Dina Tsagari, PhD, is Professor, Department of Primary and
Secondary Teacher Education, Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway. She
has also worked for the University of Cyprus, Greek Open University
and Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. Her research interests
include language testing and assessment, materials design and
evaluation, differentiated instruction, multilingualism, research
literacy, distance education, learning difficulties and inclusive
education. She is the editor and author of numerous books, journal
papers, book chapters, project reports etc. She coordinates research
groups, e.g., CBLA SIG – EALTA, EnA OsloMet and is involved in
EU-funded and other research projects.
Workshop Keynote Speakers:
- Delia Ortega is a language educator, teacher trainer, and freelance
consultant specialising in inclusive and communication-driven language
teaching. She is the founder of DELIATEACHER, a Barcelona-based
English language centre she led from 2015 to 2025, where she developed
a personalised, speaking-focused approach for diverse learner
profiles. With a background in law and university teaching, she brings
an interdisciplinary perspective to language education, combining
academic insight with highly practical methodologies. Her work focuses
on designing tailored learning experiences, particularly in ESP
(English for Specific Purposes) and professional communication,
supporting learners across educational and corporate contexts.
Workshop topic: AI in language teaching.
- Jeanne Perrett has been working in the language teaching sector for
over forty years as a teacher, school owner, publisher and writer and
is the author of many acclaimed primary and pre-primary EFL series.
She has trained teachers all over the world and frequently presented
at professional conferences. A graduate of Sussex University and
International House, she has lived in Greece since 1981.
Workshop topic: Drama activities in the primary classroom.
Participation:
Conference language – English.
To participate in the conference, please fill out a registration form
on our website https://ld-initiatives.ch/en/conferences/ by July 13,
2026.
The confirmation of conference participation will be sent within three
weeks from the submission date but not later than July 20, 2026.
Conference fee: € 100.
For participation in the conference both speakers and listeners will
be awarded with ECTS credits (0,2 ECTS credits for speakers and 0,1
ECTS credits for listeners), which will be stated in the certificate
of attendance.
Certificates of attendance will be issued to all participants,
including speakers and attendees, contingent upon their physical
presence at the conference.
Requirements for Speakers:
Agenda: plenary speeches – 30 minutes, section speeches – 20 minutes;
discussion time – 10 minutes.
Publication of Abstracts:
All conference participants may submit abstracts for publication.
Abstracts will be published in the e-Book of Abstracts containing ISBN
and DOI numbers (see Appendix 1 Authors’ Guidelines for Abstracts
Submission). The language of publication is English. The deadline for
abstracts submission is July 13, 2026. Abstracts must be downloaded in
the registration form on our website

All submitted abstracts will be subjected to the double-blind peer
review process. The editorial board reserves the right to decline
papers that contain plagiarized content or do not conform to the norms
and subject matter of the conference.
