Submission Deadline: 20-Jul-2026

In an era of growing social polarization and the digital
transformation of communication, we wish to subject to schoalarly
reflection the tension between the traditional ethos of sport and the
phenomena that negate it.
We welcome submissions from:
 - humanities scholars,
 - sociologists,
 - political scientists,
 - representatives of physical education and health sciences.
We also welcome contributions from linguists and discourse scholars
addressing the role of language in shaping sports-related values,
identities, conflicts, media discourse, and mechanisms of inclusion
and exclusion.
We are particularly interested in fostering a dialogue between theory
and practice, which is why we also encourage the following groups to
submit their proposals:
 - journalists and sports commentators,
 - referees, coaches, and sports officials,
 - sports psychologists, and athletes themselves.
The main areas of our focus are:
 - Values and anti-values: Will the idea of fair play survive in the
era of “new doping” and professionalization at any cost?
 - Hate speech: The mechanisms of hate on social media and its impact
on the athlete’s psychophysical well-being;
 - Historical perspective: The evolution of stadium aggression and
exclusion—from ancient arenas to modern stands;
 - Doping and its redefinitions: Medical, ethical, and legal aspects
of performance enhancement in sports. Technological, genetic, and
pharmacological doping as an anti-value and a challenge to the
integrity of competition;
 - Inclusion vs. exclusion: The role of sport in building community
and the barriers (racism, xenophobia, gender) to access in the world
of sport;
