We are pleased to announe that our Doctoral Network Project Joint
Doctorates (2025) « Multilingual Language Awareness in the European
Digital Society » (MultiLAwa) has been selected  and will be funded by
the European Union.
Start of the project: September 1st, 2026
Start of the PhD theses: November 1st, 2026
Start of the application campaign: May 20th, 2026

MultiLAwa is an international, interdisciplinary and intersectorial
research and training network on plurilingualism and multilingualism
as key drivers of social cohesion and inclusion by promoting Language
Awareness – the explicit and implicit knowledge of language(s) and
language use – across individual, institutional and societal levels.
MultiLAwa’s overarching research goal is for an in-depth analysis to
build upon the interconnections between Language Awareness,
pluri-/multilingualism and digitality, extending previous research in
the field of language learning / teaching, and complementing it with
research on language practices and discourses, language policy, as
well as lexicography and terminology.

Application Instructions:
To be considered eligible, applicants must meet the following
conditions:
1.      Not be in possession of a doctoral degree at the date of
recruitment.
2.      Be in possession of a Master of Arts, Master of Translation,
Master of Education, or a Master of Science (MSc) or equivalent degree
in Linguistics or similar disciplines that provides the DC with
appropriate background for the MultiLAwa DN-project - with a high mark
in the Master programme.
3.      Meet the Mobility rule of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions –
Doctoral Networks.
4.      Language skills: At least B2 level (or equivalent) in German
and English are expected. Knowledge of additional (foreign) languages
is an advantage, as described in the open PhD positions.
