Subject: CLUL (Lisbon, Portugal) Welcomes Applications to Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026
The Center of Linguistics of the University of Lisbon (CLUL,
https://www.clul.ulisboa.pt/en) is calling for expressions of interest
from researchers working in any of CLUL's areas of research
(http://www.clul.ulisboa.pt/en/research) who fulfil the conditions to
apply to the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF)
2026 call. As host institution, CLUL welcomes applications for both
European Fellowships and Global Fellowships. More information on these
fellowships is found at

. The MSCA application deadline is 9 September, 2026. By applying for
an MSCA PF at CLUL, your project will be considered for the ERA
Fellowships, thus increasing your chances of funding. Additionally,
you may benefit from having your project peer-reviewed by CLUL’s
professors and researchers prior to the EU deadline. In case you also
wish to benefit from additional peer-reviewing within the
FLUL-MSCA-Pre-assessment programme, you should state your interest
before June 2, 2026.
CLUL is the topmost research unit in Language Sciences in Portugal,
classified as Excellent by the international panel of experts from the
Portuguese Science Foundation (FCT). It is a research unit of the
School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL).
Combining theoretical, applied and experimental research, and
fieldwork, archive and computer-based treatment of language data,
CLUL's research aims to advancing the understanding of language
knowledge, acquisition and use.
Major research strands within CLUL include:
- language processing;
- language acquisition and development;
- clinical linguistics;
- educational linguistics;
- theoretical linguistics;
- digital humanities and scholarly editions;
- spatial (European and non-European varieties of Portuguese and
Portuguese-lexified creoles) and historical language variation;
- the development of language resources and applications for
Portuguese and Portuguese-related languages.
CLUL is a competitive and friendly host institution, based in a lively
European city, with an interdisciplinary team of 88 integrated PhD
researchers of 13 nationalities, and over 70 graduate students and
collaborators from other institutions.
Candidates who specialize in any of CLUL's areas of research and
believe their project may fit in our team's scientific goals can send
us an email (to : clul at letras.ulisboa.pt) with a short CV, the
identification of their project's main area of research and an
abstract of their project, together with a letter of motivation to
conduct their research at CLUL. Please also indicate which of the
fellowships (European Fellowships or Global Fellowships) you intend to
apply to. The deadline for receiving expressions of interest is July
20, 2026.
After review of the expressions of interest received, CLUL will
contact potential applicants and inform them whether the Research
Center will host and support their application to the Marie
Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 call.
