Description:
The Speech & Bilingualism research group at the Basque Center on
Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL) is recruiting a PhD student for a
fully funded four-year position.
The position is part of a new AEI-funded project led by Dr. Antje
Stoehr investigating how auditory processing precision contributes to
individual differences in foreign language pronunciation.
The doctoral project can take an acoustic-phonetic and behavioural
direction, an EEG-focused neurocognitive direction, or combine these
approaches. The precise focus will be developed with the successful
candidate according to their interests and expertise. Candidates with
an interest in phonetics, EEG/cognitive neuroscience, speech
perception and production, foreign language learning, bilingualism, or
auditory processing are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will join an international and
interdisciplinary team and benefit from close methodological training,
opportunities to attend international conferences and summer schools,
and the possibility of a research stay with one of the PI’s
international collaborators.
