The latest news says AI agents are conspiring in their own language.
Some speculate that AI will become Language itself – a ‘life’ of its
own, threatening to displace diverse human voices that will have no
more agency than the bleating of sheep. What will become of
multilingual subjects like us?
This roundtable is an urgent call to respond. How is AI already
changing our social life and working conditions, and the meaning and
import of translation, interpreting, and translingual practices. How
can multilingual communities preempt, contain, resist, and move beyond
AI-driven transformations of language.
You are invited to propose a 5-min perspective segment sharing
thoughts and experience as practitioners of alternative literary
traditions and multicultural studies.
