Description:
Northeastern Illinois University, Departments of Linguistics and

We seek candidates with demonstrated expertise in phonetics and

The successful applicant is expected to teach courses such as
Introduction to Phonetics and Phonology, Phonetics and Phonology,

Pedagogical Grammar, Structure of Modern English, Principles of
Linguistics for Teachers, and undergraduate and MA-level thesis and
capstone projects, along with other electives. Applicants may also
have opportunities to develop courses in their area of expertise in
Linguistics and TESOL. They should expect to direct MA theses and
capstone papers, supervise clinical and school-based practicum
placements, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute
to service in departmental, university, and community activities.
Please note that all candidates must be able and willing to teach
face-to-face courses, in some cases at multiple NEIU campuses, as well
as hold office hours face-to-face on-campus.
Salary range: $65,000-68,000.
Review of applications begins November 20. Please submit the
following: letter of application, statement of teaching philosophy and
research program, CV, evidence of teaching effectiveness, 3 letters of
recommendation, 2–3 representative and recent publications, and a copy
of your most recent transcript. For more info, visit our respective
