Call for Papers:
Submission Deadline: 15-Sep-2026
Date: 01-Dec-2026 – 02-Dec-2026 Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Contact: neglab.crc1629 at gmail.com
The Collaborative Research Center 1629 "Negation in Language and
Beyond" (NegLaB) at the Universities of Frankfurt, Tübingen and
Göttingen reminds interested colleagues that the submission deadline
for NegLaB III is approaching. The workshop will be held at the
University of Frankfurt on 1–2 December 2026.
NegLaB III aims to advance our understanding of how the expression of
negation is cross-linguistically associated with grammatical and
non-linguistic cognitive operations. We welcome contributions on
phenomena related to negation across all areas of linguistics (syntax,
semantics, pragmatics, phonology, morphology) as well as language
acquisition, psycholinguistics, historical linguistics and
multilingualism. Submissions addressing the workshop's three thematic
domains are especially encouraged: (A) the syntax–semantics interface
of negation, (B) negation's interaction with other grammatical
categories, and (C) processing and cognition.
Submission guidelines: Abstracts should be anonymous, written in
English, and not exceed 2 A4 pages (Times New Roman, 12 pt, single
line spacing). Authors may submit at most one individual and one joint
abstract, or two joint abstracts. Please send abstracts to
neglab.crc1629 at gmail.com by 15 September 2026. Notification of
acceptance will be sent by 15 October 2026. Each accepted talk is
allotted 40 minutes (30-minute presentation + 10-minute discussion).
