Subject: CfP Special Issue with DSLL – Computational Approaches to Multi-Word Expressions in Verse


We are looking for two additional articles for a special issue on
computational approaches to verbal multi-word expressions in verse (in
corpus languages) with Digital Studies in Language and Literature
(i.e. open access and no APCs). You can find the call still here:

In essence, what we are looking for is out-of-the-box thinking,
experimental approaches, you name it, on how to identify (or perhaps
even discover) verbal multi-word expressions in verse texts in corpus
languages or other low-resource varieties (think of
"Trümmersprachen"). In keeping with the scope of the journal, we are
specifically interested in computational approaches. While the
workshop that the special issue has arisen from was set against the
PARSEME 2.0 guidelines for verbal multi-word expressions
(https://parsemefr.lis-lab.fr/parseme-st-guidelines/2.0/), we are open
to alternative definitions and also to pieces that challenge those
guidelines. You may be working on relevant structures more from the
perspective of morphosyntactic periphrasis or lexical phrasemes, if
so, we are absolutely interested in your work. 
We think this might be great opportunity for PhD students and early
career researchers to work with a supportive editorial team (we want
to make papers better through peer review!) and join a fabulous
line-up of articles that are in the special issue already. We are
looking for pieces that would be submission-ready by the end of
September, i.e. something that someone has already (largely) written
and is looking for a venue for. The timeframe is rigid on the part of
the journal, hence this informal call. 
Please do get in touch with us (victoria.fendel at lmh.ox.ac.uk) if you
are interested to contribute, with a title and short abstract or, if
it is complete, your manuscript. Elena and I will help you throughout
the process and are always here for all questions.
