Subject: Call for Feedback: Diamond Open Access Standard for Books


The EU-funded AEGIS-OA project is seeking feedback from the scholarly
community on a proposed adaptation of the Diamond Open Access Standard
(DOAS) for books. Open Access books are particularly important in
disciplines such as linguistics, where monographs and edited volumes
are an important part of scholarly communication. The project is
adapting a standard originally developed for Diamond Open Access
journals to reflect the specific workflows, practices, and quality
considerations of book publishing.
The project welcomes feedback from researchers and others with
relevant experience of Open Access book publishing, including:
- university and library publishers
- research institute publishers
- scholarly societies
- community-based publishers and publishing platforms
- consortia and other stakeholders involved in OA books
The survey asks respondents to comment on different aspects of the
proposed standard and is an opportunity to help ensure that it
reflects the diversity and specific needs of Open Access book
publishing.
