We are pleased to announce that the 2026 LSHK Annual Research Forum
(ARF2026), celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Linguistic Society
of Hong Kong (LSHK), will be held on December 6, 2026 (Sunday). The
Forum will be co-organized by the School of Education and Languages,
Hong Kong Metropolitan University. We are now inviting submission of
abstracts for presentation at the ARF. Please find the details below.
The Linguistic Society of Hong Kong (LSHK) cordially invites abstracts
for the 2026 Annual Research Forum (ARF2026), which will be
co-organized by the School of Education and Languages, Hong Kong
Metropolitan University, and held at MU Tower, Hung Hom. ARF2026 will
form part of the celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of LSHK. As
is customary ARF practice, there will be parallel sessions, and papers
related to any area of linguistics are welcome. Every paper will be
allotted 20 minutes for an oral presentation, followed by discussion.
Please note that a paper presenter should be an LSHK member. You may
apply for the LSHK membership or renew yours at
https://lshk.org/membership/ .
Abstract Submission:
Each member is entitled to one single-author presentation and one
joint presentation. Abstracts may be written in either Chinese or
English. Each submission should be limited to one A4 page, including
references and examples, and should use a 12-point font with 1-inch
margins. Submissions should be saved in both DOC/DOCX and PDF formats.
Do not include your name or affiliation in the abstract. Please submit
your abstracts via: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/LSHKARF2026 .
The submission deadline is October 30, 2026 (Friday). All submissions
will undergo anonymous review.
Proposal for Theme-based Parallel Session:
Members who would like to propose a theme-based parallel session are
welcome to send a proposal (maximum two pages) to the LSHK Executive
Committee at excom at lshk.org, specifying the theme and the format of
the session and target participants. The deadline for panel proposals
and abstracts is October 16, 2026 (Friday).
