6 IBIS fellowships to take part in the JADT 2004

6 Bourses de séjour 'IBIS' disponibles pour participer aux JADT 2004

La 7e édition des Journées internationales d'analyse statistique des
données textuelles se tiendra du 10 au 12 mars 2004 à Louvain-la-Neuve
(Belgique).  L'appel à communication est disponible sur www.jadt.org.

Grâce au parrainage des Hôtels IBIS (ttp://www.ibishotel.com/), 6
bourses de séjour ont été constituées pour permettre à des chercheurs
dont les ressources sont insuffisantes de participer aux JADT
2004. Ces bourses, d'une valeur approximative de 550 euros, sont
accessibles aux jeunes chercheurs (doctorants) et chercheurs
expérimentés. Elles seront attribuées sur la base d'un concours
scientifique.

Les bourses ne seront pas versées aux bénéficiaires, mais seront
utilisées
pour couvrir :
 - 3 nuits d'hôtel (IBIS Grand-Place et IBIS Sainte-Catherine)
 - les déplacements entre Bruxelles et Louvain-la-Neuve
 - l'inscription au colloque
 - l'inscription au banquet

* Conditions de participation *

- seuls les chercheurs présentant une communication peuvent participer ;

- les formulaires de candidature (disponible sur le site Web :
  www.jadt.org) doivent parvenir à Gérald Purnelle avant le 15 novembre
2003 ;

- seuls les candidats dont la communication est sélectionnée par le
comité scientifique seront pris en considération ;

- les candidats participant au concours déclarent ne pas disposer de
  ressources suffisantes pour participer aux JADT 2004.

* Sélection des boursiers *

- un comité, sous la direction du président des JADT, établira un
classement des candidats. Les auteurs des six meilleurs travaux se
verront attribuer une bourse (la répartition du nombre de bourses
"jeunes chercheurs" et "chercheurs confirmés" est laissée à
l'appréciation du jury) ;

- l'avis du comité restreint est sans appel. Le comité se réserve le
droit de ne pas attribuer toutes les bourses.

6 IBIS fellowships to take part in the JADT 2004

The 7th International Conference on the Statistical Analysis of
Textual Data will be held in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium) from March
10th to March 12th, 2004. (Call for papers available at www.jadt.org.)

Thanks to a sponsorship by the IBIS hotels ( www.ibishotel.com ), 6
fellowships to take part in the JADT 2004 are made available to
researchers with insufficient financial resources. These Fellowships
which are worth around 550 euros are accessible to young researchers
(PhD) and experimented researchers. They will be awarded on the ground
of a scientific competition.

Fellowships will not be paid to the grantees but directly used to cover
the
following expenses:

-3 nights at the Ibis Hotel (the Grand-Place Ibis and the
Sainte-Catherine Ibis in Brussels)

-Commuting between Brussels and Louvain-la-Neuve

-Registration fees (conference + banquet)

* Application *

-Only people submitting a paper to the JADT 2004 can apply for an IBIS
Fellowship;

-Application forms (available at www.jadt.org) must be sent to Gerald
Purnelle by November 15th, 2004;

- In order to be eligible, candidates must have their paper accepted
by the review panel;

-Candidates who apply for a fellowship declare that they do not have
sufficient financial resources to attend the JADT 2004.

* Selection *

-A scientific committee, headed by the JADT president, will grade the
candidates. The authors of the 6 best papers will be awarded a
Fellowship (repartition between young researchers and experimented
researchers is the responsibility of the committee).

-The decision of the committee is final and may not be appealed. The
committee reserves the right not to attribute all the grants.
