 FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS

 Department of Information Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social
Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia is organizing 2nd
international conference on basic research and applications of leading
advances in the field of information science related to digital
resources and knowledge sharing.

 The INFuture2009 conference will be held in Zagreb from 4 to 6
November 2009.

 The scope of the Conference includes, but is not limited to the
following topics:

 Virtual environment in education
 Using open-source solutions in cultural heritage
 Knowledge management
 Using information resources in research, education and presentation
 Digitization and preservation
 Language technologies
 e-Services, e-Government and business applications
 Special session: Doctoral colloquium

 We encourage papers on human-computer interaction, multimedia,
virtual learning environ¬ments, e-learning, cultural heritage
management, document management, record management, digitization of
cultural heritage materials, digitization projects, document
management, record management, digital preservation planning,
long-term preservation of electronic materials, repositories, mobile
communication, (cultural) tourism for new media. We also encourage
best practices and business applications in digital archives,
libraries etc., and other related domains.

 Official language of the conference is English.

 All abstracts and papers should be written according to the
conference submission guidelines and uploaded through the conference
online submission system (http://www.ffzg.hr/infuture).

 All submitted papers will be under peer review and accepted papers
will be published in the conference proceedings and DVD-ROM.

 Important dates:
 15 December 2008 Call for contributions opens
 15 June 2009 Deadline for submission of paper and poster abstracts
 1 July 2009 Notification of abstract acceptance
 1 August 2009 Deadline for camera-ready papers
 10 September 2009 Paper reviews no later than
 1 October 2009 Submission of corrected papers
 4-6 November 2009 Conference
