ADDRESSED TO:

Undergraduate and graduate students from around the world. Most
appropriate degrees include: Computer Science and Mathematics. Other
students (for instance, from Linguistics, Electrical Engineering,
Molecular Biology or Logic) are welcome too provided they have a good
background in discrete mathematics.

All courses will be made compatible in terms of schedule.

Thierry Lecroq (Rouen), Text Searching and Indexing [introductory, 10
hours]

Rupak Majumdar (Kaiserslautern), Software Model Checking
[introductory, 10 hours]

Risto Miikkulainen (Austin), Natural Language Processing with
Subsymbolic Neural Networks [introductory, 6 hours]

Bernhard Steffen (Dortmund), Automata Learning from Theory to
Application [introductory/advanced, 18 hours]

Wolfgang Thomas (Aachen), omega-Automata and Infinite Games
[introductory/advanced, 6 hours]

Sheng Yu (London ON), Finite Automata and Regular Languages
[introductory/advanced, 8 hours]


SCHOOL PAPER:

On a voluntary basis, within 6 months after the end of the School,
students will be expected to draft an individual or jointly-authored
research paper on a topic covered during the classes under the
guidance of the lecturing staff.

REGISTRATION:

It has to be done on line at

FEES:

They are variable, depending on the number of courses each student
takes. The rule is:

1 hour = 

- 10 euros (for payments until November 30, 2010), 
- 15 euros (for payments after November 30, 2010). 

The fees must be paid to the School's bank account:

Please mention SSFLA 2011 and your full name in the subject. An
invoice will be provided on site. Bank transfers should not involve
any expense for the School.

To check the eligibility for early registration, what counts is the
date when the payment is received (not the date when the registration
form was filled in).

People registering on site at the beginning of the School must pay in
cash.

ACCOMMODATION:

Information about accommodation will be provided through the website
of the School in January 2011.

CERTIFICATES:

Students will be delivered a diploma stating the courses attended,
their contents, and their duration. Those participants who will choose
to be involved in a research paper will receive an additional
certificate at the end of the task, independently on whether the paper
will finally get published or not.
