Job description:
The Department for Computational Linguistics of the
Heinrich-Heine-Universitaet Duesseldorf (Chair of Computational
Linguistics: Prof. Dr. Laura Kallmeyer) offers a position as
wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in (TV-L E13, 65%) for a doctoral
student.
The position will start in July 2011 and is for four years. It is part
of a project in the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 991 funded by
the DFG. The CRC is a collection of 16 projects. It focusses on the
structure of representations in language, cognition and science with a
particular emphasis on frames and on lexical semantics. The project
that this position is part of is directed by Laura Kallmeyer and is
concerned with an integration of a frame-based lexical semantics into
Lexicalized Tree Adjoining Grammars.
The candidate should have completed (or complete until July) a MA
degree (or an equivalent degree) in a discipline including or close to
Computational Linguistics. Research fields and research interests
preferably comprise at least one of the following areas: grammar
formalisms, computational semantics, lexical semantics. The candidate
is expected to cooperate with the other project and CRC members and
conduct research in the field of LTAG and lexical decomposition
leading to a dissertation.
The position does not include any teaching duties but, if desired,
teaching a limited amount of courses is possible. The position is part
of a CRC that includes an integrated research training group for PhD
students. This constitutes an exceptionally rich and stimulating
environment for doctoral research.
Salary is on the German scale TV-L E13, 65%. The position is for four
years. The starting date is July 1, 2011 or, if this is not feasible,
as soon as possible.
