Journée d’étude TOTh

Le succès que connaissent les conférences TOTh, 5 ans après leur
première édition, illustre tout l’intérêt de lier la terminologie et
l’ontologie, deux disciplines qui, bien que différentes, partagent des
préoccupations communes.

Les conférences TOTh, sous la caution scientifique d’un comité de
programme international, ont atteint aujourd’hui une organisation
stable. Précédées d’une formation, elles couvrent à travers une
conférence d’ouverture, des articles de recherche et d’application
ainsi qu’une disputatio un large champ d’études et d’investigation.

Le besoin se fait aujourd’hui sentir de mettre en place des journées
d’étude TOTh afin d’approfondir un sujet en relation avec les thèmes
de la conférence. Les journées d’étude sont organisées et accueillies
par un partenaire (université ou organisation) en accord avec le
comité de programme de TOTh. D’une durée d’un jour, elles sont
planifiées à mi-parcours, entre deux éditions successives des
conférences TOTh du mois de juin.

1ère Journée d’étude TOTh
« La définition en terminologie »

La première journée d’étude TOTh portera sur « La définition en
terminologie ». Organisée par le Centre de Linguistique de
l’Universidade Nova de Lisboa et l’Equipe Condillac, elle se déroulera
le lundi 21 novembre à la fondation Calouste Gulbenkian à Lisbonne.

TOTh Workshop

The success of the TOTh conferences since their inception five years
ago shows the widespread interest in linking terminology and ontology,
two disciplines which, although different, share common concerns.

The TOTh conferences, with the scientific backing of an international
committee, have achieved a stable structure. Preceded by a training
session, they encompass an open-minded conference comprising items of
research and of application as well as wide-ranging debate on items of
study and investigation.

The need is now felt to put in place some TOTh workshops in order to
go into individual subjects in depth in relation to the themes of the
TOTh conferences. The workshops are organised and accommodated by a
partner (a university or organisation) in agreement with the TOTh
programme committee. Lasting one day, they are planned midway between
two successive June TOTh conferences.

1st TOTh Workshop
« The definition in terminology »

The first TOTh workshop will be about « The definition in terminology
». It is being organised by the Linguistic Centre of the Universidade
Nova de Lisboa and the Condillac Research Group, and will be held on
Monday, 21st November 2011, at the Calouste Gulbenkian foundation in
Lisbon.
