The Ninth Asia Information Retrieval Societies Conference (AIRS 2013)
December 09-11, 2013, Singapore

The Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society
(COLIPS) is glad to host AIRS 2013 in Singapore, a well communicated and
top conference city in Asia, from 9 to 11 December 2013. Singapore has
already been the host city for other major conferences such as SIGIR
2008 and ACL 2009 (COLIPS being one of the local organizers of the
latter one), as well as a previous edition of AIRS in 2006 and many
other international workshops and events. All these successful
experiences, which have been continuously confirmed over the years by
the positive feedback from participating delegates and board members,
have endorse the reputation of Singapore as a world-class venue for
organizing and hosting international conferences and meetings.

Additionally, Singapore’s long tradition in high-quality research in
infocomm technologies, as well as its vibrant and dynamic academic and
industrial communities, determines the fundamental interest from COLIPS
to organize well recognized conferences relevant to the infocomm area,
such as AIRS. The Asia Information Retrieval Societies Conference (AIRS)
aims to bring together researchers and developers to exchange new ideas
and latest achievements in the field of Information Retrieval. The scope
of the conference covers applications, systems, technologies and theory
a spects of information retrieval in text, audio, image, video and
multimedia data.

The AIRS 2013 welcomes submissions of original papers in the broad field
of Information Retrieval. The technical areas covered include, but are
not limited to, the following:

1. IR Models and Theories
2. User Study, Evaluation and Interactive IR
3. Web IR, Scalability and IR in Social Media
4. Multimedia IR
5. Natural Language Processing for IR
6. Machine Learning and Data Mining for IR
7. IR Applications

Important Dates:
- Jun 23rd, Paper Submission Due
- Jul 28th, Notification of Acceptance
- Aug 11th, Camera Ready Due
- Dec 9th – 11th AIRS 2013 to be held in Singapore

The AIRS 2013 proceedings will be published as a Springer’s LNCS
volume. Submissions should comply with the corresponding author
instructions available at the Springer's LNCS website:

Paper submissions must be completed electronically and in PDF format to
