POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Post-Doc position in the DOCSCOPE project at the National Center for
Scientific Research (CNRS) GREYC Laboratory, Caen, Normandy, France.
Duration: 12 months
Application deadline: 15.07.2013 (11:59 pm GMT)
The Human Language Technology team (HULTECH) proposes a Post-Doc
fellowship within the context of the newly started DOCSCOPE project (ANR
label) at the CNRS GREYC Laboratory for high standard candidates with a
Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering.

POSITION
The DOCSCOPE project aims to contribute to the identification of
falsified documents by developing new methods to detect directly visible
or hidden visual clues using new technologies of documentary image
processing.
The exploitation of the results (revealing incoherence, alterations,
fraudulent modifications, doctored photographs, etc.) also integrates an
interpretation phase, which makes it possible to specify the
significance of changes, or the meaning of whatever manipulations have
been detected. Research stemming from Semiology (or Semiotics) and
particularly work applied to image analysis, document analysis or text
as image have obviously their role to play in the global DOCSCOPE
procedure. Within this project, the analysis is not dependent on
comparison with an annotated database, but relies on careful induction
from sets of clues.
The successful candidate is expected to work in collaboration with other
researchers, programmers, and students involved in the project in an
interdisciplinary team, and to collaborate with the research units
involved in the project.
