Permanent Research Position in Biomedical Knowledge Extraction from Text
in Bibliome team (MIG lab. INRA)
Near Paris, France

Bibliome research team in MIG laboratory (Mathematics, Informatics and
Genome) at INRA (French Institute for Agronomic Research) has an open
permanent position for a junior researcher in Knowledge Extraction from
texts in Biology. Bibliome is located in INRA research center in
Jouy-en-Josas, near Paris in France.
This is a permanent position as a public servant for the French State.
The benefit package includes health and retirement insurance.

Bibliome group designs methods for the acquisition and the annotation of
semantic knowledge from scientific documents for Information Extraction
(e.g. genic interactions), Information Retrieval (e.g. semantic search)
and Terminology and Ontology building. It has been pioneer in the field
of Information Extraction for Molecular Biology. Its expertise covers
all steps of the linguistic analysis by NLP methods and the Knowledge
Acquisition by Machine Learning.

Ideal candidates should have a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and should
have several years of experience in Information Extraction (doctoral or
post-doctoral) for Knowledge Acquisition with a strong focus on Natural
Language Processing (e.g. term and relation extraction, dependency
parsing, semantic role labeling), and Machine Learning for NLP (e.g.
distributional semantics, dependency path kernel).

The applicant should have experience in programming and be comfortable
in Linux environment. Experiences of applied research to Life Science is
an asset.  Prior experience in collecting and integrating linguistic
ressources (corpora and lexicon) and tools into pipelines represents an
advantage. An advanced level of English (oral and written) is an asset.
