He may be able to tell you himself, since I know at some time he
contributed to this list (around three years ago?). I even had some
e-mail exchange with him then. His "Linguistic History of Holland
and Belgium" remains for me the best introductory book on the subject
and I have lent my copy (purchased at 'De Slegte' of all places) to
several non-Dutch speaking friends and colleagues who were curious
about various aspects of the language.

In het decembernummer 1998 van "Afrikaans vandag", een tijdschrift van de
"Stigting vir Afrikaans", staat een artikel van prof. Donaldson (inderdaad
uit Melbourne) waarin hij schrijft dat in de loop van 1999 bij Routledge
een taalcursus "Colloquial Afrikaans" gaat verschijnen, geschreven door
hemzelf. Vreemd genoeg weet noch mijn boekhandelaar noch de website van
Routledge hiervan.
Gezien de over het algemeen vrij hoge kwaliteit van de Routledge-cursussen
zou ik toch graag weten of ik binnenkort mijn lessen Afrikaans met nieuw
lesmateriaal kan verrijken. Weet iemand uit de lijst toevallig waar ik
informatie hierover kan verkrijgen? Of misschien kent iemand zelfs het
e-mailadres van prof. Donaldson?
