[The following is in Scots and in English]
Ye'll finnd a new beuk on ScotsteXt! ablo "Factual", gaein bi the name o
"Scotticisms" bi Alexander Mackie. Oreeginally made ti try an learn Scots
fowk English, ye can uize it juist as weel ti gang the ither road for ti
better yer Scots eediom! The'r a muckle rowth o guid Scots eediom in thare.
It says plenty an aa aboot linggistic bigotry in general!
There's now a new book on ScotsteXt! below "Factual", called "Scotticisms"
by Alexander Mackie. Originally written with the aim of teaching English to
Scots-speakers, you can put it into reverse and use it for improving your
Scots idiom! There's a vast amount of good Scots idiom described in the
book. Those interested in linguistic bigotry in general rather than the
Scots language itself should also find it fascinating!
