De stoof die wij gebruikten was ook van hout gemaakt en de binnenkant van
het bovenste hout waerd langzamerhand zwart van de hitte door de bestraling
van de kolen. Aan de buitenkant merkte men daar niets van want het hout was
heel normaal.
De pot voor de kolen, waarvan ik de naam vergeten ben, was gemaakt van
aarde, een roodachtig klei denk ik, zoals men die ook vindt als
bloempotten. Ze waren nooit geëmailleerd.
Het is interessant hoe Zuid-Afrikaners van Europese oorsprong dergelijke
gebruiken hebben meegenomen en voortgezet in hun nieuwe vaderland.
