Subject: Afrikaans
Well, some basic ideas can come from a variety of sources.
Afrikaans is a mixed bag of Dutch of c.1500. Especially since from
memory many of the modern spellings are from after 1600ad or there
abouts.
A Large Heugonaut immigration who had to learn English or Afrikaans so
it likely also lead to simplifications and changes.
A Large English Speaking group who likely kept speaking English, but ...
as well as local Bantu and other lower Africa lingos, who learned
Afrikaans or English but broght their sounds and like to the new lingos,
possibly leading to new spelling of words?
Mike
