I've just heard a couple more abbreviated US past tenses:

"By the powers vest in me ..."

"The police knew they need to know ..."

I also recently heard another interesting "compression" of an ending:
"biologist" as a plural. All these were spoken (on TV) quite slowly by
"educated" speakers.

Sincere thanks to our Netherlandic/Dutch friends Henry Pijffers and Jan Paulus
for their help.  Now I know for sure that the Low Saxon (Low German) dialect
of Winterswiek/Winterswijk in Gelderland belongs to the Achterhoeks group.
