Subject: Online resources

Although I still have quite some work to do for updating and adjusting
my pages about "languages and dialects in Belgium", after I had to
trasfer them from CompuServe to:
http://www.euro-support.be/langbel/langbel.htm
I couldn't resist to add some new pages to the site.

Since some of the pages are used in schools, I have heard, I feel I
hardly can delete some of the old stuff. I'm just intended to add some
more samples in the next months.

For Limburgish I have scanned a map showing the relation with
Low-Rhenanian:
http://www.euro-support.be/langbel/maplim3.htm

For Walloon, a text in "Limburgish" walloon:
http://www.euro-support.be/langbel/rocl1.htm
This text actually was written in the dialect of Roclenge-sur-Geer when
this municpality was still part of the province of Limburg.
I was lucky to buy the collection "Foûrèhon" by Frénay, published in
Hasselt, this Saturday, using the opportunity of the
"Stellingwerff-Waerdenhof" Museum liquidating it's stocks of books, this
very week-end.
(their e-mail: stellingwerffwaerdenhof at hasselt.be)

The maps of the walloon language area on page:
http://www.euro-support.be/langbel/mapwal.htm
have been renewed.

As illustration how a switch of cultural language (from German to
French) can occur very rapidly:
http://www.euro-support.be/langbel/beho.htm

Finally a poem in Jiddish from Antwerp.

Roger
