It must be the season for dialect dictionnaries. After announcement of new
dictionaries for Limburgian from Diepenbeek and also from Kortessem, and
after publication of one more for Brabantish from Antwerp, a completely
reviewed and enlarged re-edition of the Brabantish dictionnary by H. Diddens
is available in the bookshops downtown Mechelen:
Hendrik Diddens, "Woordenboek van het Mechels dialect", 1999, vzw Mechelen
2000+, 2 vols. paperback, BF 2500, no ISBN nr., 319 pp. + 356 pp.

a sample, expressions with "bollewinkel":
- Allei, geu na den bollewinkel veu vààf cente zjizjippekes hale.
- Ha kreig da ne stamp teige zànen bollewinkel
- Teige-n-àven bollewinkel! (Da zal teige a twië platte Mechelse gescheite
zààn)
- Oep den bollewinkel gaan (Aas 't prei gewest is, geun die mannen altad oep
den bollewinkel).
