Subject: Language varieties

It occurs to me that a problem with attempting to define the peculiarities
of non-standard forms of English in terms of a "Danish" content is that the

standard language itself already contains marked Danish elements. It is,
after all,  generally accepted that the London dialect from which the
present standard language developed derived from the East Midland dialect
of
Middle English, though of course with influences from Kentish, etc.
